Post Notification Night

Several people have asked me about what happens next for Kris...where will he be stationed...he doesn't know, yet. However, he should know soon. Post Notification Night for the Class of 2010 is Wednesday, February 3rd.

Pictures are of how Kris spent his birthday one summer. He was actually at Ft Knox learning a little about tanks and even driving them. I think it was his 19th birthday.


Kris knows that his basic branch school (called BOLC - can't remember why) is located at Ft Knox. He will be going to school to become an Armor officer. School will start sometime between late July and October. I'm not sure when he will find out his class date.


Post notification is when cadets for the Class of 2010 find out their first duty assignment, following completion of basic branch schools.. The post assignments are based on the needs of the Army.  Cadets submit preference sheets ranking all available posts for their branch. The cadet's class rank and post availability will be used to determine their assignment.


Since Kris knows he is not at the top of his class he knows he is not guaranteed his first choice...so we wait and see. I think he would like to go someplace where snowboarding is close. :-)
